Why the Prairie Dog?

Prairie dogs have one of the most advanced systems of communication, using social chatter, movements and collaborative sounds. Prairie dogs also work together as a community to get messages where they need to go. These characteristics reflect our focus on:

Nicole Hoover

Speech-Language Pathologist and Owner

Nicole received a Bachelor of Science at Queen’s University and then went on to completed Masters (Applied) in Communication Disorders with a specialization Speech-language pathology at McGill University in Montreal in 2004. Following graduation Nicole gained experience working in Brantford Ontario, with preschool children as part of the Provincial Speech and Language System.  

After moving to London Ontario Nicole began a position at the London Speech and Language Centre, providing speech services to school-aged children and then with preschool children through the Thames Valley Children's Centre. Nicole made the decision to open her own private practice in 2013, to allow for more flexibility in her schedule and to be home with her three children. 

Nicole strives to support her local community in as many ways as possible. Nicole has had the opportunity to support the children and families of the Chippewa of the Thames First Nation by providing speech and language support through the Enji – Maajtaawaad Early Years Centres since 2014. The clinic is also a proud supporter of the Community in Motion Fun for Community Living London.

Roseanne Bakker

B.A. Communication Disorders Assistant

Rosanne earned her Bachelor of Health Sciences degree in 2004 and her Masters of Clinical Science in Speech Language Pathology in 2006 both from the University of Western Ontario. Since then, Rosanne has had the privilege to work with many preschool and school aged children with a variety of communication needs including speech sound disorders, language disorders, stuttering, early language delays and literacy difficulties. Rosanne has experience supporting children who are minimally speaking with developing functional communication skills. She is passionate about introducing Alternative and Augmentative communication and is committed to supporting all forms of communication.

Rosanne is focused on ensuring that therapy is a positive experience for both children and their caregivers and believes that meaningful progress happens when therapy is collaborative, engaging and tailored to each child's unique set of strengths and needs.

Alison Csercsics

Speech-Language Pathologist

Alison graduated from Western University’s Speech-Language Pathology Program after completing an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics and Psychology. Following graduation, Alison joined the team at Chatterbox.

Alison has a strong passion for supporting children and families with motor speech disorders and literacy difficulties. Throughout her career, she has also gained meaningful experience assessing and treating children with early language difficulties, speech sound disorders, and language disorders as well as in supporting children and families with using alternative and augmentative communication devices.

Alison is dedicated to delivering family-centred services and helping clients achieve their goals through fun and meaningful activities. She is passionate about continuing her education and keeping up to date with new research and practices. Alison is committed to continuing her education. She has completed training in:

Olivia Zanatta

Speech-Language Pathologist

Originally from Burlington, Ontario, Olivia is a recent graduate of Western’s Speech Language Pathology program. She became passionate about pursuing a career in Speech- Language Pathology after volunteering at a private speech therapy clinic during her undergraduate years at Dalhousie University, where she completed a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience.

Olivia has experience assessing and treating children with a variety of communication difficulties including early language delays, speech sound disorders, language disorders, fluency disorders (stuttering), and literacy difficulties. She also has experience working with children with a variety of developmental disabilities including Autism and Global Developmental Delay.

Olivia is a firm believer of using play-based learning in her sessions to make therapy as engaging and meaningful to her clients as possible. Olivia is committed to continuing her education and ensuring that she is up to date with evidence-based therapy practices. She is certified in:

  Hanen It Takes Two To Talk
  Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) LOUD

Olivia is thrilled to be joining the team at Chatterbox Communication Services as a Speech- Language Pathologist. In her spare time, you can find her curling up with a good book, binge watching her new favourite TV show, or in the gym playing volleyball.
